We’re part of your village

Together we can redefine what support looks like for you.

Our story

After experiencing motherhood's highs and lows firsthand, Mavida's co-founders decided to pave a new way forward for perinatal mental health care.

Together, Dr. Sarah Oreck (Columbia University-trained reproductive psychiatrist) and Emma Sugerman (seasoned digital health leader) created Mavida Health, a more accessible, supportive and specialized place for women care.

Since its founding, the Mavida team has championed the belief that a whole person, whole village approach to women's mental health can make a difference.

What’s in the name?

Mavida is inspired by two Spanish words. “Maternal” (maternal) and “vida” (life). A nod to Dr. Oreck’s first language!
